Degree Programs
Biological Science is a broad degree program encompassing all of the life sciences. Coursework is designed to develop a holistic background in the life sciences. It also prepares students for careers in a broad range of employment opportunities such as conservation, environmental consulting and management, education, forensic sciences, health care, and health-related industries. The biological sciences degree is also an excellent choice for those wishing to gain admittance to graduate school and professional programs.
Physiology is a specialized life science degree which requires courses in general zoology, genetics, gross and comparative anatomy, general and mammalian physiology, and biochemistry. Students majoring in Physiology exclusively take laboratory and seminar coursework for advanced study in the field. The physiology degree prepares students for professional school, graduate school, and research positions with universities, government agencies or industry.
Zoology is designed to provide students a thorough background in the biology of animals. The degree program includes courses in vertebrate and invertebrate zoology, ecology, evolution, genetics, and physiology, and also allows students to select coursework in their chosen field. The zoology degree prepares students for graduate school and for many applied and professional careers, such as field or lab research, animal care, animal conservation, education, and public outreach.
